Founder's Message

Heather Chisholm

“Smooth seas do not make skillful sailors,” (African Proverb) therefore visionaries are usually challenged by the visions they conceive as they metamorphose these dreams. The task of staging an event and bringing an idea to life in the face of numerous adversities is truly a remarkable growth experience. This has been the quandary of the Image Caribbean Cultural Society in its mission to stage the Ms. Orlando Caribbean and Ethnic Minority Pageant. Our team grew to discover new talents and tenacity previously unknown to us.

To date, we have managed to stage many major events with strong community support both locally and overseas. In fact, our sponsors have given new meaning to the phrase “community spirit.” We continue to thrive on a foundation laid by members of the community as we struggle to maintain what can be deemed a social partnership. The support helped us to achieve remarkable goals, which many initially perceived to be a virtual impossibility.

The hard work and dedication of our crew is finally paying off. Today, we celebrate achievements derived from a commitment to personal growth and learning, to the discipline of continually clarifying our vision and understanding of reality, and expanding our ability to produce the results we truly want in life while helping each other to develop personal proficiency to the fullest. Thank you all for this reciprocal blessing.
